The Czars台译沙皇乐团，来自美国丹佛，初出道默默无闻，后来《The Ugly People VS. The Beautiful People》这专辑在英国大受欢迎，成为瞩目新星。有人用“低调，温文，清新，浪漫，成熟”来形容The Czars的音乐。认识The Czars可能是吉他手Andy Monley的关系，他曾是Cocteau Twins的吉他手。四人组合The Czars还有负责钢琴和主唱的John Grant,贝斯手Chris Pearson，鼓及吉他Jeff Linsenmaier。

［此帖子已被 婴宁 在 2005-8-13 20:56:26 编辑过］ 来自落杉矶丹佛市的另类摇滚乐团The Czars，主唱John Grant早年曾在德国求学六年，之后便回到丹佛市于1994年建立了这个乐团，由于他在留学期间深首欧洲气息的感染，早期的音乐作品La Brea Tar Pits of Routine带着Britpop的风格，并且是先在英国的独立厂牌发行了这张专辑，然后再回到美国他自己的家乡发展。The Czars由五个人组成，Grant低沉浑厚的男中音是乐队最吸引人的亮点，而乐队是采用双吉他配器，以及小提琴、各种鼓器的交相辉映，专辑的歌曲中既有阴郁低沉的颓废之美，也有些乡村民谣的清新散漫。《Drug》选自他们的专辑《The Ugly People Vs. the Beautiful People》。
