Roxette来自国际流行音乐重镇瑞典，由男成员Per Gessle和女成员Marie Fredriksson组成。词曲作者、主唱、吉他手per 1959年1月生于瑞典南部的哈尔姆斯塔德市，女歌手marie 1958年5月30日生于瑞典的阿尔沃斯塔市。per从七岁起就开始着迷于The Beatles、猫王Elvis Presley的音乐，17岁开始学习吉他，不久组成了他的第一个乐队Graperock，1980年，per另组Gyllene Tider乐队，一曲“Flickorna Pa TV2"使他在瑞典初获成功。marie在加入Roxette之前便是瑞典一位颇有名气的女歌手，在1986年以前推出过3张个人专辑。

per和marie1978年相识于哈尔姆斯塔德市的一家摇滚俱乐部，俩人都爱好美国60年代的摇滚乐。1986年，他们正式走到了一起，组建了Roxette！同年，Roxette的首张专辑〈Pearls Of Passion〉推出后在瑞典一炮而红，“joy of a toy”、“ soul deep”、“surrender”、“goodbye to you”、“so far away”等均成为当年瑞典的热门歌曲。1987年圣诞期间，Roxette推出了新单曲唱片“It must have been love"(X'mas for the brokenhearted)，此曲后来收入全球热门影片〈Pretty Woman〉（风月俏佳人）的电影原声专辑中，是Roxette最成功的作品。
为了取得更大的发展，他们决定用英文演唱，走出瑞典，走向世界。 1989年，Roxette在EMI旗下推出了〈Look sharp〉专辑，迅速在世界各地走红。“the look”、“listen to your heart”带着悦耳动听的旋律和激动人心的节奏传遍了世界，也传入了我们的耳中。“the look”奇迹般的成为19个国家流行榜的冠军歌曲，谭咏麟还将这首歌重新填词改变为“你知我知”在港台演唱。
1991年，在〈look sharp〉的余热尚未散尽的时候，Roxette又掷出了一颗重磅炸弹〈joyride〉！标题曲“joyride”奔放流畅，“church of your heart”、“things will never be the same”都是我非常喜欢的歌曲。
Roxette在世界巡回演唱途中录制的〈Tourism〉专辑在1992年9月推出。“how do you do!”、“It must have been love”、“ never is a long time”、“ cinnamon street”、“ so far away”、 “the look”等14首金曲收入其中，我认为这是Roxette最好听的专辑。
1994年，Roxette又推出恕碈rash!Boom!Bang!〉，虽然其中的歌曲已经无法突破“the look”、“It must have been love”的辉煌，但整张专辑依然保持了Roxette的固有魅力。
1995年至1997年Roxette有一张精选〈Greatest hits〉，和一张怀旧性的，收入了早年的demo歌曲和混音版歌曲〈Pearls of passion〉。
1999年，Roxette终于推出了一张全新的专辑〈Have a nice day〉，在Roxette原有音乐基础上加入了许多舞曲节奏，带给了Roxette的老歌迷一种全新的感受。
