称The Verve为延续80年代新迷幻风潮的最佳代言人, 应该是一点也不为过. 成立于90年,来自
英国小镇的他们, 在独立厂牌Hut之下发行的首张
专辑"A Storm In Heaven"便以丰沛迷离的吉他音
墙,独树一格的编曲方式与旋律令所有的乐评惊艳.
吉他手Nick McCabe善于在朦胧喧然的音效结构中,
营造出一股清新而冷凝的氛围,这也使得The Verve
虽然在某些方面神似My Bloody Valentine , Ride ,
House Of Love , Spacemen 3等新迷幻老前辈,却
也能够营造出属于他们自己性格鲜明的旋律.
这样的风格在接下来发行的一张EP及第二张正
式专辑"A Northern Soul"中,益发成熟灵活,这也使
得The Verve虽身处Hut这样一个独立小厂牌,却能受
到全世界的重视与喜爱.
到了97年发行的第三张专辑"Urban Hymn"中,The
Verve更尝试了一种突破----就是在音乐中加入了大
量弦乐编制, 原有的迷幻氛围仍持续,但弦乐的优美
却令人有超脱世俗之感.专辑中代表性的单曲"Bitter
Sweet Symphony"同时也是英国榜上的宠儿,这说明
THe Verve独到的尝试确实是成功的.

音沙沙地撒落进了心房.
