CUSCO是Michael Holm 和 Kristian Schultze二人组合，二人非常喜欢去山岭自然和远古遗迹的地方去旅行，从而得到灵感和启发！
Michael Holm1943年出生于一个德国的音乐世家，在他们家里经常上演的六重奏里，HOLM经常负责演奏笛子的部分，并由此深深地爱上了笛子。而这也解释了为什幺在那幺多的CUSCO专辑里，笛子都是主要乐器。
??在1963年，HOLM就开始了他自己的职业创作生涯，最先是作为一个歌手和作曲者。而在此后的15年时间里，HOLM成为了一名知名的音乐家，而他所参与制作的作品范围非常广泛，从电子到民族，从音乐剧到电视配乐。
??而在1978年，HOLM的南美之行直接带引了CUSCO系列的到来。在那一年里，南美人们的热情，文化的特异，风光的美丽，都给音乐家留下了深刻的印象。
??1979年，HOLM为众多唱片进行了制作和发行，以至他渴望用合成器和电子音乐探索一种新的音乐形式。而78年的经历则成了他主要的定位方向，而为了让这个探索更完美，HOLM和好几名音乐家一起进行音乐创作，其中包括了后来同样是CUSCO核心人物的Rainer Pietsch和Kristian Schultze。
??当第一张专辑Desert Island在1980年发行之时，HOLM说：“南美人们对待我们的真诚和友善都被我们通通收录在CUSCO里了，我们希望通过CUSCO，把人类的友谊和热忱传达出去。”
而在1988年，CUSCO加入了高八度公司，此后15年，CUSCO系列在高八度的旗帜下一共发行了二十多张唱片，销售总量超过两百万张。而这个系列又总是充满了印加文化和阿芝台克文化的影子，神秘而令人好奇。而就其成功的原因，也许，高质量的制作是其中一个不可缺少的因素，用HOLM的话来说是：“我们是以制作电影背景音乐的方式来制作每一张CUSCO专辑的。”所以，这也解释了为什幺CUSCO的音乐总是给人那幺大气、庄严和堂皇的感觉。

    CUSCO是Michael Holm 和 Kristian Schultze二人组合，二人非常喜欢去山岭自然和远古遗迹的地方去旅行，从而得到灵感和启发！他们做出了从宇宙，安第斯山脉，印度到埃及的沙漠的种种音乐体味。这张(远古旅行)是他们沉溺于他们所喜欢的古老历史。在时间的巨大跨度上，糅合了古老的气息和特性和现代的诠释和乐器的丰富色彩表现！
    全碟起伏是如此的落差！从激荡的音乐急促敲击旋律，到缓慢的迷离乐场，最后到达音域作品的顶峰！在人声如同远古的号子声中，音乐的高潮开始涌起！多种气氛乐器，鼓，低琴和钢琴在开始的节节击键中，音乐逐渐扩大氛围，达到高潮！
