1999年7月，继其在乐坛一举成名之同名专辑发行近一年半後，Destiny's Child再度推出了首张全新作品"The Writing's On The Wall 有迹可循"，并参与了更多的词曲创作与制作工作。如今平均年龄已届18岁的团员们，除了藉由作品来呈现她们在心智上的成长，将写作范畴从唯一的爱情关系扩展到各种人际关系上，探讨人生的各种真实面与灰色地带外，更邀来多位先前未曾合作过的当红超级制作人，企图创造出更新的乐风与声音来。但此同时，她们亦仍保留了原来简单、朗朗上口且带有押韵意味的词句特色。首支强势单曲「Bills, Bills, Bills」以及另外两首快版的歌曲「So Good」「Bug A Boo」，便邀来乐坛当红炸子鸡Kevin "She'kspere" Briggs（TLC的多周冠军单曲「No Scrubs」的幕後创作功臣）来合写及制作，并已迅速登上Billboard单曲榜冠军宝座。此外，专辑中还收录有Rodney Jerkins制作的「Say My Name」，Daryl Simmons制作、优美哀愁的「Stay」，当红男声团体Next跨刀献声合作的「If You Leave」，以及另一当红团体Tony Toni Ton的Dwayne Wiggins捉刀制作的「Temptation」，展现团员更臻成熟嗓音、建立新R&B经典情歌典范的「Now That She's Gone」..等，果真为Destiny's Child再创了乐坛新高峰！
2000年一开春，Destiny's Child便经历了团员的变动，原来的LaTavia与LeToya更换为18岁的Farrah Franklin以及19岁的Michelle Williams，其中18岁的Farrah Franklin又在不到半年後离开，但Destiny's Child在Beyonce Knowles及Kelly Rowland这两位乐团原创始者及灵魂人物的领导下，不但丝毫不受影响，反而成绩更加突飞猛进。
