AMORPHIS是芬兰甚至世界上独一无二的乐队了。
这张千湖的传说可以被称之为极端金属界的一座不朽的丰碑。
歌词取材于Kalevala（19世纪初收集古诗，神话和英雄事迹所编成的芬兰民族史诗），开金属界之先河。
他们是一支来自芬兰的著名death metal乐队，他们早期的风格带有
明显的北欧death metal的色彩，略带black metal味道的吉他音色，快速
的吉他riffs，狂暴的鼓击，都显示出乐队与emtombed等老牌北欧death
metal乐队一脉相传的特点，不过经过一段时间的发展，他们大胆地进行了
变革，屏弃了追求快速粗暴的传统，结合北欧民谣和doom metal的特点，
创立了一种旋律与力量紧密联系的崭新风格，从而确立了amorphis在x-
metal界独树一帜的地位。
1994年发行的专辑《tales from the thousand lakes》，是一部经典作
品，也是death metal史上最佳唱片之一。乐队加入了一位键盘手，而且键
盘在专辑中起了相当大的作用。作品取材自北欧神话，音乐风格也围绕着
这个主题展开，吉他与键盘交相呼应不断爆发出优美的旋律，速度虽然慢
了下来，但带有doom metal那种超重型的感觉，配合传统的深喉式的
death vocals，营造出一种苍凉凄美的氛围，专辑中每一首歌曲都很出
色，编曲衔接也合理流畅，有着类似概念唱片般的整体感，对x-metal的爱
好者来说，这是一张不容错过的专辑。
