英文名： Village people
简 介：一个名叫 “Village People” 的演唱组，
他们穿上制服──各名歌手分别代表建筑工、印第安人、牛仔、警察、皮条族和士兵──
构成对所谓传统的的男子汉气概和当代城市文化的绝妙讽刺。
“乡民”演唱组最著名的歌曲如“MachoMan”和《基督教青年会》（YMCA）等带有很强的同性恋意味，
但异性恋听众却不知道（也不想知道）基督教青年会（为男青年提供健身和临时住宿的场所）向来就是同性恋者的渔场，
而歌中所唱的“呆在YMCA其乐无穷…这里有年轻男人所需的一切…你可以与其它年轻男人结伴而行”对许多同性恋来说简直是一目了然。
Village People 演唱组的另外一首歌“In the Navy”曾一度是美国军队招兵的广告歌。
